WHY I AM RUNNING FOR RE-ELECTION TO THE CITY COUNCIL

GREENWOOD VILLAGE NEEDS TO FIND NEW REVENUE SOURCES TO ENSURE ITS FINANCIAL STRENGTH IN THE POST-PANDEMIC WORLD

There is a lot of uncertainty about the office and retail markets.  I chaired the Greenwood Village Revenue Committee for the last four years and worked to identify new revenue sources.  The concept and the design for the Arapahoe Entertainment District (AED) was a result of this Committee’s work. This District is a significant new revenue source, close to light rail, and in an area of GV that needs to be redeveloped.  I would like to continue working on this kind of revenue-positive, responsible development.

CRIME HAS INCREASED IN GREENWOOD VILLAGE

There is a debate about the reasons for rising crime. Whatever the reasons, one of the main responsibilities of a Councilperson is to keep our citizens safe.  I am committed to doing just that.

POSITIONING GREENWOOD VILLAGE FOR THE 21ST CENTURY

Based on the feedback I have received, Greenwood Village residents want electric vehicle charging stations, buried power lines, sustainable approaches to the City’s projects and high speed fiber to their homes.  I have been working with our staff to get grant funding through the Charge Ahead Colorado program for additional charging stations at City Hall and in the AED.  In addition, residential power lines along Dorado and Powers are scheduled to be buried in 2022.  Working with our staff and the Botanic Gardens, I also helped design the Belleview Median project as a xeriscaped project to ensure low water use.  Also, I am working with our City Infrastructure Committee to evaluate how to implement high speed fiber to our homes.
